We marched for our families, for our friends, and for all Palestinians still demanding their right to return and for an end to this American-Zionist backed holocaust against our people. We celebrated our valiant resistance to Zionism and Imperialism and affirmed our promise to our people: we will not stop until Palestine is free. Our struggle for liberation remains unbroken and will continue to strengthen until Palestine is liberated and israel is a mere memory.

ULFP COMMEMORATES THE MARTYRDOM OF SINGER, SONGWRITER, AND CHILD POET HASSAN AYYAD: Last night, the world lost a voice that carried the soul of Gaza—a voice that wove poetry into song, sorrow into resistance, and childhood dreams into anthems of resilience. Hassan Ayyad, the singer, the songwriter, the child poet whose words bloomed amid the rubble, has been stolen from us by a Zionist airstrike last night. Hassan was more than just his voice; he was a testament to the unbreakable spirit of Palestine. From a young age, alongside his father, his words carried the weight of a people under siege. He sang of freedom in the grip of occupation and of a future his heart ached to see. His poetry was not just his own—it was the voice of every child who has known nothing but blockade, every mother who has cradled both her dreams and her grief, every father who has buried his aspirations alongside his martyrs. How cruel that a land so rich in poets must so often bury them. How unjust that a boy who should have been holding a pen, strumming an oud, or laughing with friends was instead met with bullets, bombs, and silence. Hassan’s murder is not an isolated tragedy—it is the calculated erasure of Palestinian culture, the systematic snuffing out of beauty that refuses to be crushed. But Hassan’s words outlive him. They echo in the streets of Gaza, in the chants of protesters, in the verses scribbled on walls that even bombs cannot erase. He sang for his homeland, and now we must carry his voice onward. 🇵🇸🎓 ADVANCING THE LINE, EMBOLDENING THE PEOPLE: REFLECTIONS ON THE ONE-YEAR ANNIVERSARY OF THE UCLA PALESTINE SOLIDARITY ENCAMPMENT — RESOURCE GUIDE BY UCLA ENCAMPMENT ORGANIZERS AND PUBLISHED BY UNITY OF FIELDS: Due to the violence and fierce collective self-defense that characterized the action, the UCLA Palestine Solidarity encampment became one of the major sparks and infamous stories of the 2024 “Student Intifada.” There are many political lessons to be learned from the student intifada, both from the height of its militancy and from the counterinsurgency which took hold soon after. This counterinsurgency contains many parallels to the containment of resistance after the George Floyd uprisings, with contradictions heightened by the limitations of a student-centered movement. My hope with this anniversary reflection is to keep the memory of militancy alive while also critiquing how it has been erased or misrepresented, and to close with suggestions on how we proceed from these lessons.
