🌙🇵🇸 RAMADAN AND PALESTINE: A TESTAMENT OF FAITH, UNITY, SUMOOD, AND RESISTANCE. Today marks the beginning of the Holy Month of Ramadan, a sacred month we welcome with hearts full of hope and faith. For many of us, Ramadan isn’t only just a month meant for spiritual reflection and prayer, but it’s also a profound reminder of what it means to be resilient, the importance of community, and the eternal struggle for justice. This year, Ramadan arrives amidst unimaginable suffering and oppression. For the past 16 months, our people in Gaza have had to endure a relentless genocidal campaign at the hands of the Zionist occupation. Mosques have been reduced to rubble, homes have been destroyed, and the very fabric of Gaza’s society has been torn apart. In the West Bank, Zionist forces have escalated their violence on Palestinians there, subjecting them to forced displacement and street executions. This guide is meant to shed light on the importance of Ramadan, not just for the Muslim world, but for Palestinians especially—as it signifies a month of unity and unwavering faith in our struggle for liberation. God reminds us to “hold firmly to the rope of Allah and do not be divided” (Quran 3:103). God also tells us that “Indeed, God loves those who fight in His cause, in a row as though they are a single structure firmly joined” (Quran 61:4). Our unity as an Ummah—as a global community—is our strength, and it is through this unity that the struggle for Palestinian liberation will end with our victory. May this blessed month be a month that opens the doors of goodness to you all. Ramadan Kareem! 🇵🇸

SECOND STUDENT WALKOUT THIS MONDAY: Student organizers have announced the SECOND city-wide student walk out to take place this Monday, March 3rd, and will include all schools in Kern County. Students will begin their walkout at 9:20AM and will meet at the Liberty Bell outside the Kern County Superior Court building. Please do what you can to come through and show your support to these brave students. They request water and snacks on that day as well as all others to come stand with them as they demand action against the nationwide ICE raids. See you then!

✍️🇵🇸DEAR PALESTINE: We came together for our third Dear Palestine event to write letters of support and solidarity to our friend Mahmoud Khoudari, founder of @levels_gaza —a program dedicated to empowering students to excel in language and linguistics in Gaza. In the face of unimaginable hardship amidst the genocide perpetuated by Zionist forces on Gaza, Mahmoud continues to be a source of resilience and hope for us all. This event wasn’t just about words on paper—it was about standing with those who refuse to be silenced. Every letter is a reminder that Mahmoud and the youth he supports are heard—all the way to Bakersfield, California and beyond. Thank you to everyone who showed up, wrote, and shared their voice. AN INTROSPECTIVE ON BLACK-PALESTINIAN UNITY: A RICH HISTORY OF RESISTANCE AND SOLIDARITY — A Resource Guide By The United Liberation Front for Palestine As we reflect on this Black History Month, we take a moment to contemplate the rich history between Black and Palestinian liberation movements and the role of Afro-Palestinians within Palestine’s tapestry. Both Black and Palestinian movements have historically shared a common struggle against systemic oppression, racism, colonialism, and imperialism. From the 1960s until this moment, that solidarity has taken shape through political and militant alliances, cultural exchanges, and shared resistance tactics. This resource guide serves as both a brief look into this alliance as well as a tool to shut down those who attempt to bury this history in service of their neoliberal agendas.

CSUB STUDENT MARCH: We were grateful to be part of such a resonant and powerful march, as students from CSUB came together to demonstrate their unity against the actions of the government and its impunity against our communities. We continue to affirm our commitment as the only Palestinian organization in Bakersfield/Kern County, to our community and to the students and their message: Our oppression is the same.
