Mohammed Wishah

“Never say that those martyred in the cause of Allah are dead—in fact, they are alive! But you do not perceive it.” (Quran 2:154)

The United Liberation Front for Palestine mourns and commemorates the martyrdom of journalist Mohammed Wishah, a correspondent for Al-Jazeera Mubasher, who was assassinated in Gaza by Zionist forces while carrying out his duty to document the truth.

Like many of his martyred colleagues, Mohammed Wishah did not carry a weapon—he carried a camera and a microphone, and used his voice to document the ongoing genocide. His assassination is part of a systematic campaign to silence those voices.

Because of this, we reject the illusion being presented to the world of a so-called “ceasefire” in Gaza. While officials and media outlets repeat this claim, the reality on the ground in Gaza tells a different story. Dozens of Palestinians continue to be killed day after day by Zionist forces, with airstrikes, targeted attacks, and relentless violence persisting without pause. A ceasefire that exists only in rhetoric while people continue to die is just a cover for ongoing atrocities.

Journalists in Gaza have become deliberate targets because their work disrupts the machinery of propaganda. Every report they transmit is an act of resistance against a narrative that seeks to dehumanize Palestinians and justify their extermination. Mohammed Wishah stood in that line of resistance.

Mohammed Wishah now joins the growing list of Palestinian journalists who have paid with their lives to ensure that the world cannot claim ignorance. Their sacrifice has shattered the illusion of neutrality in the face of oppression and forced a global reckoning with the realities unfolding in Gaza.

Glory to our martyrs.
