CEASEFIRE TODAY, LIBERATION TOMORROW: With a Ceasefire Deal Finally Reached, Our Work Continues
After enduring over 465 days of unprecedented carnage and destruction unlike anything we've seen in the modern age-with hundreds of thousands martyred, countless injured and millions displaced in Gaza, along with thousands killed in Lebanon, and with blood shed across the world for the liberation of Palestine-the Palestinian Resistance was able to secure a ceasefire agreement with the Zionist entity that calls itself israel'. This agreement is set to begin on Sunday, January 19th.
Gaza's joy is our joy.
The United Liberation Front for Palestine congratulates our heroic people in Gaza and all of Palestine, for standing firm and resolute against the forces of oppression represented by the most barbaric army on the face of this Earth and backed by an empire of terror. Despite the efforts of the United States and israel to perpetuate a genocide on Palestinians-that has claimed the lives of over 300,000-and despite the hurt and unimaginable loss, Palestinians have ensured that with their sacrifices, the spirit and message of liberation lives on stronger than ever before.
This victory is for our Palestinian people alone. This victory is for our resistance, who held the line and defended our people despite the Zionist Entity's threats to eliminate it. No government institution or political figure has any right to claim credit for this victory.
Our people and its resistance won the hearts and minds of millions across the globe as they witnessed what it really means to be a Palestinian. What it means to be a devoted father, a courageous mother, a steadfast brother. What it means to be a dedicated doctor, nurse, journalist, or teacher. They saw the real meaning behind Sumood and the reality of what it means to fight back.
We also witnessed what it means to be a true ally in the example of Lebanon, Yemen, and Iraq who gave their lives for the sake of Palestine and its people in Gaza. We saw notable sacrifices from the heart of the Imperial Core, exemplified by individuals like Tahseen Ali Ahmad and Aaron Bushnell. We saw the beginnings of a true global intifada, as marches of solidarity swept across the world.
This escalation in the genocide has also once again exposed the true intentions and machinations of the US empire and its allies in the west. As protests swelled, the true face of the Imperial Core was revealed through its blatant repression of free speech and assembly. The heavy-handed, gestapo-like tactics of police suppressing encampments at college campuses, silencing dissent, and intimidating protesters laid bare the hypocrisy of those who claim to champion democracy and human rights. The crackdown on student organizers and the targeting of activists demonstrated the lengths to which these powers will go to stifle voices of resistance simply to uphold their geopolitical interests.
It also exposed the collaborators and traitors among us, solidifying their stance as enemies of our people. Whether they were governments that influenced their media to speak ill of Palestinian resistance in Gaza, or individuals that parroted Zionist talking points, or those who collaborate with law enforcement to suppress organized movements for Palestine in the name of capital gain-their treachery has been exposed and can never be buried again.
We will not forget those who stood beside our people, amplifying our voices when we were silenced, and continued to advance the cause for liberation amidst the bleakest moments. It's what allowed us to continue to stay active in the community, despite the pressures. Their support has reaffirmed that our struggles are one and interconnected.
At the same time, we will not forget nor forgive those who stood against our people, and who actively supported the genocide. This includes the likes of Joe Biden and Anthony Blinken, who used the genocide to further their own interests; members of congress who invited and applauded a war criminal in the heart of the Capitol; and those of our own local elected officials here in Bakersfield who not only stood resolutely with the Zionist entity, but also actively suppressed and surveilled members of the community who spoke out for Palestine.
Our work has only just begun. Although a ceasefire deal has been brokered-one that hinges precariously on israel's willingness to honor the agreement—the genocide is far from over. The Zionist entity's ongoing siege, the relentless occupation, and the systematic oppression of the Palestinian people remain a stark reminder that the struggle for justice and liberation is far from complete and that our mission is far from over. Yes, a ceasefire is a victory, but it's also the bare minimum.
The bridges we built and the communities we fostered over the past 15 months will need to be stronger than ever, especially through these next few years. We must continue to bring attention to Palestine, educate people on the Palestinian plight and israel's ongoing ethnic cleansing of Palestinian lands. It's up to us to expose the ways in which the struggle of all oppressed people is connected.
We must continue to fight for the future we envision—one free of colonialism, where Indigenous people have full ownership and autonomy of their land, free from settlers and foreign intervention—from Palestine, to Lebanon, to Syria, to Sudan, to Yemen, to here in Turtle Island.
It will only be through a united front dedicated to the liberation of all that we stand a chance to free ourselves. The recent border patrol raids throughout Yokuts Lands (Kern County) which devastated our migrant community and tore families apart, is only a sample of what the empire has in store for all of us. Things are going to get worse, and quicker than people realize. This is not the time to rest or let our guard down—we must continue to build ranks, to organize, and to prepare. We must join forces in our shared struggles against the powers of imperialism, colonialism, and capitalism. We must continue our struggle not just until Palestine is liberated, but until we all are.
A ceasefire agreement was the most basic of our demands. It is our responsibility to continue to organize, to sustain the work that we started until all our demands our met, the siege is lifted, and the occupation is no more. Our actions, boycotts, and outreach will persist with greater intensity, our voices will only get louder, and our movement will only grow stronger-fueled by the renewed unity of our people and the solidarity of allies across the globe. We will rebuild Gaza as we double our efforts to build a coalition that not only resists but envisions a future where Palestine is free, from the river to the sea.
Glory to our martyrs and long live Palestine.
